2011 FX

Models and Options
The powerful Infiniti FX, Infiniti’s iconic performance crossover, enters the 2011 model year with a few important enhancements – including standard power rear liftgate (late availability) and one new exterior color. FX is again available with a choice of a 390-horsepower 5.0-liter 32-valve DOHC V8 engine with VVEL (Variable Valve Event & Lift) or with a 303-horsepower 3.5-liter 24-valve DOHC V6. Both engines are paired with a standard 7-speed automatic transmission featuring Adaptive Shift Control (ASC) and available solid magnesium paddle shifters.

The 2011 FX is available in three models: FX50 AWD with 5.0-liter V8, FX35 AWD with 3.5-liter V6 and FX35 RWD with 3.5-liter V6.

Changes for 2011 include:

  • Power rear liftgate added as standard equipment (late availability)

  • 5-spoke 20-inch aluminum-alloy wheels with P265/50R20 V-rated all-season tires standard on FX50, replacing previous 21-inch wheels and tires (20–inch wheels and tires also optionally available on FX35)

  • Black lacquer interior trim standard on FX50 (replaces previous Maple interior accents)

  • Navigation Package contents added to Premium Package on FX35

  • New Deluxe Touring Package available for FX50 (includes Maple interior accents, aluminum pedals and 21-inch wheels and tires)

2 The RearView Monitor is a convenience but is not a substitute for proper backing procedures. Always turn and check that it is safe to do so before backing up. The RearView Monitor may not detect every object behind you.
3 Factory-installed option. Never program while driving. GPS service may not function properly when satellite reception is weak (see Navigation System owner's manual for details). Mapping may not be detailed in all areas.
4 Around View Monitor is a parking aid and cannot completely eliminate blind spots or warn of moving objects. Always check your surroundings before moving the vehicle.
5 Intelligent Cruise Control (Full Speed Range) is not a collision avoidance or warning device. Designed to use limited braking. Failure to apply the brakes could result in an accident.
6 IBA is not a collision avoidance system. It may not provide warning or braking in certain conditions. Never rely solely on IBA.
7 FCW cannot prevent accidents due to carelessness or dangerous driving techniques. Always drive safely.
8 The Lane Departure Warning/Lane Departure Prevention systems operate above approximately 72 km/h (45 mph) and only when the lane markings are clearly visible on the road. They will not operate in the rain or prevent loss of control. Driver activation/deactivation switches are provided.
9 Distance Control Assist helps maintain a distance to the vehicle in front under certain conditions. Not a collision avoidance system. Failure to apply the brakes could result in an accident.
10 Airbags are only a supplemental restraint system; always wear your seat belt. Even with the occupantclassification sensor, rear-facing child restraints should not be placed in the front-passenger's seat. Also, in addition to any other requirement of applicable law, all children 12 and under should ride in the rear seat properly secured in child restraints, booster seats, or seat belts according to their size. Airbags will only inflate in certain accidents; see your owner's manual for more details.
